Overview

FCRIMS operates under a well-established governance framework, supported by multiple statutory committees that are instrumental in ensuring compliance, transparency, and academic excellence. These committees are formed in accordance with the guidelines issued by regulatory authorities such as the University of Mumbai, AICTE, and relevant statutory acts. They provide oversight, facilitate the streamlining of institutional processes, and uphold the standards necessary for the efficient functioning of academic and administrative activities.

These committees collaborate to ensure that all institutional practices conform to legal, ethical, and academic standards. They facilitate regular reviews, keep documentation, oversee policy implementation, and verify that student welfare, staff duties, and institutional responsibilities are effectively addressed. Their operation supports accountability, ongoing improvement, and the overall credibility of the college.

Governing Council

The Governing Council is composed of esteemed industry leaders and distinguished academics. Industry representatives offer strategic insights derived from various sectors, ensuring that the institute stays progressive and aligned with industry standards. Academicians from premier institutions such as IIMs, IITs, and other leading management schools maintain high academic standards. Collectively, they direct the strategic course of the institute and reaffirm its dedication to excellence.

College Development Committee

A College Development Committee (CDC) serves as an authoritative body charged with the strategic planning and supervision of academic, administrative, and infrastructural advancements within a college. Its responsibilities encompass formulating comprehensive development plans, endorsing instructional programs and academic calendars, proposing new courses, and ensuring adherence to regulations imposed by university authorities and government agencies, including those established by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Furthermore, the committee manages essential matters such as the affiliation of new colleges and academic programs, student welfare initiatives, and faculty development efforts.

Objectives:

Grievance Redressal Committee:

A Grievance Redressal Committee is an official body established to handle and resolve complaints from individuals, such as employees or students, in a just and organized manner. Its primary purpose is to offer a procedure for submitting concerns regarding unfair treatment, harassment, or administrative matters, ensuring these issues are thoroughly investigated, mediated, and resolved swiftly and impartially. The committee typically comprises a senior leader, HR representatives, and occasionally employee or student representatives.

Objectives:
  • Establishes clear guidelines and procedures for addressing student and staff grievances
  • Ensures fairness, due process, and respect for individual rights
  • Provides a structured framework for resolving disputes within the academic community
  • Affirms students’ rights and protections as members of the institute
  • Allows students to seek clarification, reconsideration, and review of academic or administrative decisions
  • Covers academic grievances such as final grades, advising, and faculty or administrator judgments
  • Extends to non-academic grievances including discrimination, harassment, and unfair treatment

Anti-Ragging Committee:

The primary objectives of an anti-ragging committee are to establish and maintain a ragging-free environment, prevent incidents of ragging through vigilant oversight and awareness initiatives, and respond promptly and decisively to any complaints or occurrences of ragging. Furthermore, they are committed to safeguarding the safety and well-being of all students, providing counselling and support to victims, and cultivating a campus atmosphere characterized by discipline and mutual respect.

Objectives:
  • Create a ragging-free environment: To build and preserve a culture of respect and inclusivity where no student fears ragging.
  • Prevent ragging: To implement proactive measures like conducting regular inspections of student areas and ensuring continuous vigil.
  • Conduct awareness programs: To educate students about the harmful effects of ragging and the associated punishments through workshops and seminars.
Handling incidents:
  • Investigate complaints: To thoroughly investigate all complaints related to ragging.
  • Take swift action: To promptly and strictly deal with any reported incidents to send a clear message that ragging is not tolerated.
  • Impose disciplinary action: To ensure that students found guilty of ragging face appropriate and strict disciplinary measures, which can include suspension, expulsion, or other punishments.

Mechanisam:

The mechanism of an anti-ragging committee involves establishing preventive measures, creating a support system for students, and imposing punitive measures on offenders. This includes forming a committee and a squad to actively patrol the campus, create awareness through campaigns and notices, and investigate complaints by gathering evidence and holding inquiries. The committee then decides on punishments, which can range from suspension to expulsion, and ensures that the process complies with regulations set by bodies such as the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Women Development Committee:

A Women Development Committee (WDC) is an organizational entity, frequently established within educational institutions, dedicated to empowering women, preventing sexual harassment, and fostering a secure and inclusive environment for female students and staff. Its responsibilities encompass the organization of awareness programs on gender sensitization and women's rights, the resolution of grievances, and the cultivation of a supportive atmosphere conducive to personal and professional growth. Additionally, WDCs conduct workshops on subjects such as self-defense, health, and mental health.

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC):

An Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) is a structured authority constituted under India's Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, tasked with the prevention and remediation of sexual harassment within organizations. Its objective is to establish a safe, secure, and gender-equitable environment by receiving, investigating, and resolving complaints of sexual harassment. The ICC is responsible for accepting complaints, conducting unbiased inquiries, and advising management on suitable measures.

Objectives:
  • Prevent sexual harassment in the workplace and ensure a safe, respectful environment
  • Provide a fair, confidential, and accessible mechanism for addressing complaints
  • Formulate, implement, and enforce anti-harassment policies and procedures
  • Conduct impartial and timely inquiries into complaints
  • Offer support, guidance, and protection to victims during the process
  • Recommend and ensure appropriate action based on inquiry findings

Mechanisam:

The mechanism of an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) encompasses the receipt of written complaints, efforts towards conciliation, the conduct of a quasi-judicial inquiry, and the formulation of recommendations for appropriate action. The complainant is required to submit the complaint within three months of the incident. Additionally, the ICC must conduct its investigation with impartiality, uphold confidentiality, and endeavor to resolve the matter within a period of 90 days.

Student Welfare Committee:

The Student Welfare Committee oversees all aspects of student life outside of academics, encompassing areas such as healthcare, financial aid, hostel, transportation, group medical insurance as well as addressing incidents of ragging and misbehaviour, among other non-academic concerns. The objectives of a student welfare committee include promoting the holistic development of students, addressing their academic and personal needs, ensuring their well-being, and providing support services. Key goals include fostering academic success through counselling and remedial classes, supporting mental and physical health, offering financial assistance, and providing opportunities for skill and personality development. The committee also works to create a safe and inclusive campus environment for all students.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC):

In accordance with its Action Plan for performance evaluation, assessment, accreditation, and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), all institutions are mandated to establish an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a measure for sustaining quality. As quality enhancement is an ongoing process, the IQAC will be integrated into the institution’s system and will endeavor to achieve the objectives of quality improvement and maintenance.

Objectives: The primary aim of IQAC is
  • To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

Examination Committee:

An Examination Committee functions as the highest authority within an educational institution, tasked with the effective planning, organization, and seamless execution of all internal and external examinations. Its principal responsibilities encompass developing examination schedules, ensuring a fair and transparent assessment environment, managing results, maintaining records, and addressing disciplinary issues such as malpractice. Additionally, the committee is entrusted with implementing university policies, appointing examiners, and continuously enhancing examination procedures. It oversees all examination-related matters in coordination with the University, and the Examination In-Charge reports directly to the Director. All information received from or communicated to the University is handled by the Examination Committee in collaboration with the respective departments.

Objectives: The primary aim of IQAC is
  • To conform rules, regulations, procedures & guidelines laid down by regulatory authorities
  • To cover all the activities relating to the conduct of examinations including project presentations and viva-voce as per the examination cycle.

The National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources, sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, and developed by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. It functions as a single-window platform for educational content, providing a wide variety of resources for all academic levels, including researchers, students, and lifelong learners, in multiple languages.

Objectives: The primary aim of IQAC is
  • Provide a single-window platform for accessing digital learning resources nationwide
  • Inspire, empower, and encourage learning for users of all age groups
  • Create a comprehensive virtual repository of educational materials
